Fall 3 ON 3 (2nd/3rd GRADE)
Who: Boys and Girls in the 2nd or 3rd grade for the 2024-25 school year
When: Sunday afternoons (girls and boys will have separate sessions) starting 9/29/2024-11/24/2024 (excluding 10/27/2024)
What: Each Sunday, all players will participate in:
· 30-minute Group Skills Clinic
· Two Games: 20-minute running clock
Where: Maple View Middle School and/or Tahoma High School
How: Skill clinics and games will be facilitated by GC Hillburn (TBA Director of Player Development) and college coaches and/or players. Parents volunteers may be needed to keep score. Each player will receive a reversible jersey.
Rules:
- When possible, hoops will be lowered to 9 feet
- Games will be scored by 2’s and 3’s
- Any foul committed will result in 1 point being awarded to the opposing team
- If fouled in the act of shooting, 2 points will be awarded to the opposing team. If a player is fouled and makes the shot an additional point will be added. There will be no free throws in order to keep the game moving at a fast pace.
- On a dead ball the official will pass (or check) the ball to an offensive player at the top of the key to resume live play
- A 12 second shot clock will be kept by the officials who will count the last 5 seconds out loud. The shot clock will reset after the ball touches the rim or there is a change of possession.
- All other basketball rules will apply. Referees will be conscious of helping teach players about the game and rules especially the first few weeks of the league
